Could have gone better
I have to say, I'm really pleased with the way our boys played yesterday. Our defense was able to stop cold the best player in the freakin' NFL, and our offense (with a few exceptions) proved it was, more or less, improved over last year.
Grossman kept his hands on the ball. He got sacked a couple times resulting in some losses, but I think that may have been an issue with an offensive tackle missing his man. He threw 12 for 23 for 145 yards and one INT (53.7 passer rating), but the statistics don't really show that 1. the offense wasn't on the field that much and 2. the Chargers have a pretty damn good D in their own right.
I was super proud of my Bears D, that's for sure. Keeping the Chargers scoreless for 44 minutes is no easy task, but that may have come with some serious side effects. Mike Brown may be out for the freaking season again, and Dusty Dvoracek may also be hurt pretty bad. I was excited about Brown being back and really excited to find out what Dvoracek could do for his first healthy season with the Bears, and if they're both out, I'm worried how we'll do.
But, you know what? It's a non-conference game against one of the toughest teams in the NFL, so I still have hope. Let's just pray they don't come round next week with another set of injuries.
